Health Nuts Market in the Crystal Falls Plaza on Georgia Road has been a staple in Franklin for over 18 years as a source for quality natural foods and supplements. The shop features an extensive selection of vitamins, herbal remedies and supplements. There are also over 200 bulk food items including nuts, beans, grains, spices, teas and more as well as a wide selection of natural groceries and health and beauty products including organic, gluten-free and other hard to find items.
Scott and Kelly Greene, who purchased the store in August of 2023, have a passion for wellness and serving others. They've made it their mission to be your local healthy market, providing friendly and knowledgeable service along with an extensive selection of health and wellness products.
Scott and Kelly Greene met in 1996 while attending the University of Florida. "Scott is the hardest worker I have ever met," said his wife Kelly. "Ever since I've known him, he's been talking about owning his own business."
Scott is no stranger to retail as he grew up working in his family's retail business. As some do, however, he decided to pursue a different path working up the ranks in hospitality, managing luxury resorts, lodges and clubs for over 20 years. Kelly shared his passion for service, organizing events for the PGA of America and several high end hotels.
Scott and Kelly had some fairly common health challenges in their 30's and decided that they wanted to find natural ways to improve their health. This began their life long commitment to healthy living. In addition, "We had our daughter a little later in life and want to make sure we are doing everything we can to be around for her as long as possible." Scott said.
Both Scott and Kelly grew up camping in the mountains of North Carolina. So when a hospitality opportunity came about for Scott in Cashiers it was like coming home. The dream to own their own business was still there, however, so when Scott and Kelly found that Roomful of Nuts (now Health Nuts Market) was for sale they felt it was meant to be. "After leaving retail and spending 20 years in hospitality management, this opportunity was like coming full circle." Scott continued.
"Since purchasing the shop, we have gotten to know and care about the people in this wonderful community of Franklin." said Kelly. Scott and Kelly work hard to make sure everyone feels welcome when they come into the shop. "To us, you are more than a customer, you are like family! We care about you and your health needs" agreed Scott and Kelly.
